Full-power costs worked out at 26.32p per kWh. Thermostats lower all of these in real use.

How to use your K1

  1. Unbox it and stand it on a flat, hard surface at least 1 metre from curtains and furniture.
  2. Plug it straight into a wall socket. Don't use an extension lead.
  3. Press the power button or use the remote, then set your temperature.
  4. Let the thermostat do the work. Once the room is warm, it switches on and off to hold the temperature.

Using any electric heater safely

These tips follow UK fire-service and Electrical Safety First advice and apply to any portable heater, including ours:

  • Plug the heater straight into a wall socket. Don't use an extension lead or adaptor; they can overheat.
  • Keep it at least 1 metre from curtains, bedding, clothes and furniture.
  • Stand it on a flat, hard, stable surface where it can't be knocked over.
  • Never cover it or dry clothes on it.
  • Switch it off at the wall when you go out.
  • Check the plug and cable now and then. Stop using it if either is damaged or feels hot.
  • Make sure you have a working smoke alarm on every floor. Many UK fire services fit them free for older residents.

When the K1 is not the right choice

We'd rather you buy the right heater than return ours. The K1 is probably not for you if:

  • You want to heat a large open-plan space over about 20 m² with one heater. Two K1s, or a bigger heater, will do a better job.
  • You want to replace central heating for the whole house.
  • You only feel cold once you're in bed. An electric blanket is cheaper for that.
  • You need a heater for a bathroom. The K1 isn't rated for wet rooms.

Where can I buy the Ofenwerk K1 Heater in the UK?

Directly from ofenwerk.co.uk. Buying here gets you the genuine product, our bundle prices and our guarantees.

How much is the Ofenwerk K1?

£59 for one, £89 for two, £119 for three, £179 for four and £239 for five. Delivery is free across the UK and VAT is included.

How much does the K1 cost to run?

At the current Ofgem price cap, about 32p an hour at full power and about 16p an hour in typical thermostat use.

Is the Ofenwerk K1 worth it?

If you want to warm one room quickly without heating the whole house, it's a low-cost, safe option. If you need to heat a large open-plan space or the whole house, it isn't the right heater, and we'd rather tell you that up front.

Can I leave the K1 on overnight?

It has a thermostat plus tip-over and overheat cut-offs. Even so, we recommend warming the bedroom before bed and switching it off, which is cheaper and follows UK fire-safety advice.

Is the K1 noisy?

It has a small fan, so you'll hear a gentle sound, a bit like a quiet laptop. There's no ticking or clicking.

What happens if it stops working?

Contact us. The K1 has a 24-month warranty, and within 30 days you can also return it for a full refund.

Can I send a K1 to my mum's or dad's address?

Yes. Just enter their address as the delivery address at checkout. Delivery is free and tracked anywhere in the UK.
