Most cheap fan heaters blow air over a glowing metal coil. They're slow to warm up, they scorch the dust in the air, and they keep drawing full power whether the room needs it or not. The K1 uses a PTC ceramic honeycomb instead. As the ceramic gets hotter, it automatically draws less power.
